The KDA Philosophy

Kids Discovery Academy is firmly rooted in a commitment to respecting each student, staff and family and in realizing that our innate needs must be met prior to expecting growth and development.

  • Social/Emotional Needs - Each interaction is an opportunity to support independence, kindness and positive relationships
  • Consistency - Students do best when they can be secure in the daily flow and expectations.
  • Respect - Young students are discovering who they are and how they interact with the world. We are here to support their confidence, risk taking skills in life and in learning!

Without those things in place, expecting academic development is like expecting a car to drive with the gas tank on empty.

This philosophy is based on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs (link below) and impacts all of our priorities, procedures and flow of the day for students, families and staff.
